Let me be the first to congratulate you. By virtue of the fact that you are looking at a counseling website, you have clearly taken the first and sometimes most difficult step toward becoming a healthier happier you. Be encouraged as you seek to heal yourself.

The vast majority of folks, who engage in and commit to therapy, realize significant improvement. This may not be the easiest thing you have ever done, but it may well be one of the most important. I am humbled by the opportunity to join you on your unique journey.

My philosophy

In my Practice I employ creativity, insight and humor in a safe and supportive environment while guiding my clients toward solutions to some of life’s most difficult questions. I believe emotional issues rarely begin as suddenly as it may appear, but rather they develop throughout a longer span of time. My familiarity with developmental models allows me to view emotional issues through a specialized lens and pinpoint the unresolved experiences in life that may often surface much later. This search is followed by learning and applying new healthy resolutions that come about through a guided process.

When ways of coping that have worked for years suddenly stop working, therapeutic guidance helps people develop new healthier ways to cope and ultimately heal. These approaches are applicable to any age group and to families, or couples.

Helping you create a better you

My experience is wrapped around the organic desire to help others. It has truly been my life’s work. I have developed my therapeutic skills throughout a 20 plus year span of time. I first worked with young adults, college students and their families in a ministry type setting and following Graduate School, as a licensed professional counselor for the past seven years. As an LPC I have worked both in institutional settings as well as in private practice. This diverse experience has developed in me a well-seasoned eclectic approach to therapy.

My specialties include family counseling, depression and anxiety, couples/marriage, adjustment disorder, OCD/phobia/PTSD, grief and trauma related issues, and hypnotherapy to name a few. I have considerable experience working with couples both married and those looking forward to the possibility of marriage. During my time with the Dallas Independent School District I provided counseling services to adolescents and their families.

I am a certified hypnotherapist and use this modality extensively to treat anxiety related issues.
